Lucy received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Penn State University in 2009 and her Master of Social Work from Rutgers University in 2013.  Lucy started her social work career as an Education Counselor for individuals with psychiatric disabilities in higher education.  Upon completing her MSW, Lucy worked for 5 years as a child/adolescent outpatient therapist providing individual and group counseling.  Lucy has worked as a trauma therapist following natural disasters, traumatic events and school shootings.  Additionally, Lucy has provided tele-therapy for several years and is well versed in the use of technology for increasing accessibility to therapy. 

Lucy offers a person centered, strengths-based approach with students and enjoys using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques and Mindfulness tools.  She strives to be empathetic and understanding with all of her students.  Areas of professional interest include individual therapy, groups, anxiety, depression, trauma, difficulties with transitions and adjusting to new situations, interpersonal relationship challenges and multicultural/diversity concerns.  

Viana is a Principal Clerk Typist with Counseling Services. Viana joined �ԹϺ��� University in 2015 when she began working for the School of Business, and previously worked as a school secretary for the Atlantic City Board of Education at Sovereign Avenue.

Michael is an Assistant Director of Counseling Services. Michael received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Rutgers University. He received a Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Monmouth University. Michael received a Doctorate degree in Counseling Psychology at Argosy University. Michael is licensed as a Professional Counselor and an Alcohol and Drug Counselor. Michael joined �ԹϺ��� in 2013 he strives to create a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which individuals can be supported in their efforts to grow. He assists people with a wide range of mental health concerns including anxiety, stress, depression, addictions, family dysfunction and trauma. Michael utilizes a didactic blend of counseling techniques to support the students he serves. Michael also facilitates anxiety and addictions groups.

Abby Mace received her Bachelors of Arts in Psychology (2022) and her Masters of Social Work (2024) from Salisbury University. During her time at Salisbury, one of her two internship experiences was in the university’s counseling center, providing both clinical and non-clinical services. She served on the Out of the Darkness planning committee for suicide prevention and gained experience in outreach through tabling, presentations, and campus-wide events. Abby is a licensed social worker in both New Jersey and Maryland and works part-time at a local private practice, where she supports individuals of all ages, genders, and sexualities.

As a former collegiate softball player at Salisbury, Abby developed a deep understanding of the student-athlete experience and the balance required between academics, extra curriculars, and well-being. Passionate about the mental health experience and resources available for college aged students, Abby brings her clinical background, outreach experience, and athletic insight into her role as Outreach Coordinator and Case Manager, where she collaborates across the university to connect students with resources and foster a culture of empowerment and well-being.

Elisabeth holds a Master of Social Service (M.S.S.) from Bryn Mawr College and received certification in Applied Educational Neuroscience from Butler University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in working with children and adolescents in K-12 Public Schools, partial hospital, and outpatient settings. Elisabeth uses strength-based and solution-focused modalities in her practice. As a current student in the MA in Holocaust and Genocide studies at �ԹϺ���, she understands the struggles that come with being a college student today. Elisabeth seeks to empower students so that they can be successful not just academically, but in their personal lives as well.  

Roxana is a bilingual (Spanish/English) Licensed Associate Counselor. Roxana was educated in Atlantic City Schools and received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from �ԹϺ��� University. Roxana is a first-gen college graduate and proud EOF alumnus. Prior to becoming a Mental Health Therapist, Roxana worked in Adult Education, teaching English as a Second Language, and has over a decade of experience in college and career counseling. Most recently, Roxana worked as the Lead Counselor for the GOALS GEAR UP Program at �ԹϺ��� during the inauguration of the program.    

Informed by her experiences working with people overcoming depression, anxiety, trauma, work-related stress, and relationship challenges, Roxana works humbly and holistically with anyone seeking support and guidance in navigating life’s challenges. She always strives to provide clients with compassion and a safe space, meeting them where they are. As a therapist, she views collaboration as a crucial component in working towards meeting counseling goals.

With her therapeutic modalities centered in Person-Centered Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and a trauma-informed approach, she aims to empower clients to confidently move through their life transformations.

Her self-care includes Pilates, Reiki, and spending time with her family and friends.

Laura is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), with a therapeutic focus on trauma survivors, LGBTQIA+ issues, and disordered eating.  She also provides counseling to students who struggle academically and/or socially. Laura works closely with the Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Center (WGSC) as the liaison counselor and is a trained sexual assault/Title IX victim’s advocate.  She runs a number of support groups in the Counseling Center for women and for trans* students.  In 2018, she successfully held �ԹϺ���’s first clothing swap for our transitioning student population.

 

Laura strongly believes in individualized treatment and therefore uses a variety of therapeutic techniques including CBT, Person (client) centered, Solution Focused, DBT, and Strength/systems perspective.  Laura has a passion for helping people find the tools that they need to be their personal best.  One of Laura’s favorite quotes, from a world class woman, Maya Angelou is “when you know better…. you can do better.”

 

Laura is an Alumna of �ԹϺ���, having graduated in 1998 with an undergraduate degree in Public Health.  She went on to get her MSW from Rutgers in 2001.  Previously, Laura worked in various mental health settings that focused on substance abuse, eating disorders, seriously mentally ill, trauma & PTSD, and in home care with children and their families.  After having her two daughters, Laura joined a local private practice office where she worked full time from 2006 to 2017.
