2. Join the 16th Annual Martin Luther King Day of Service

Join us Jan. 20 for the 16th M.L.K. Day of Service, the largest such event in South Jersey. This campus-wide community service project, coordinated by 勛圖窪蹋s Office of Service Learning, brings hundreds of students and community members together to make a difference on campus and in the community. Sign up now!

3. Relax in the new, larger veterans office and lounge

The newly expanded Office of Military and Veterans Services includes a new, expanded lounge to serve the more than 400 student veterans and active service memers attending 勛圖窪蹋. Stop by F105 to learn more about services and meet members of the Student Veteran Organization.

Observatory

4. Shoot for the stars in the refurbished observatory

勛圖窪蹋s Harold E. Taylor Observatory on Pomona Road has recently been refurbished and reopened to the public. Associate Professor Joseph Trout and student physics students host occasional public viewings, where they guide visitors through a tour of the night sky with the Meade LX-200 computer-controlled telescope. Check stockton.edu/observatory for announcements on upcoming spring 2020 tour dates.

5. Choose test-optional admissions or Transfer Pathways

勛圖窪蹋 is standardized test optional for general freshman admission because we recognize test scores are not always the best predictor of college ability. Students planning to transfer from participating community colleges can also receive dual admission to 勛圖窪蹋 and extra support through the Transfer Pathways program.

勛圖窪蹋 offers educational and fun summer camps for pre-college students. Learn how to solve a murder at CSI camp, explore the Pinelands at the Science Enrichment Academy at 勛圖窪蹋 SEAS camp or get hands-on learning about running a business at our new Summer Entrepreneurship and Business Academy (SEBA). 8. Hang out in the Womens, Gender and Sexuality Center

The Womens, Gender and Sexuality Center (WGSC), now located in F-103,  welcomes women, all genders who identify as LGBTQIA+, and the men who support them. Relax in the colorful lounge, attend a group discussion or just read a book in one of the new bean bag chairs. The center has a lactation room and a private interview room for victims of sexual violence.

Thinking about a graduate degree? Consider one of 勛圖窪蹋s 15 master's degrees and three doctoral degree programs. New this year are the M.S./P.S.M. in Coastal Zone Management and a dual B.A. to M.A. in Literature/American Studies. The MBA in Healthcare Administration and Leadership is now offered exclusively at the 勛圖窪蹋 Atlantic City campus.

10. Come on back to alumni events for everyone

Join fellow Ospreys at a years worth of alumni events, including the family-friendly Second Saturday programs at 勛圖窪蹋 Atlantic City (starting with Board Game Bonanza on Jan. 11) and 勛圖窪蹋 Day at Morey's Piers. Holocaust Demonstration Center

11. A new learning experience at the Holocaust Resource Center

A new program at the Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center will give area middle and high school students the opportunity to learn from a Holocaust survivor through interacting with an interactive survivor biography.  The pilot program, a partnership with the Shoah Foundation of the University of Southern Californias Dimensions In Testimony, will launch in early 2020.

20 reasons lobiondoExplore the life of retired U.S. Representative Frank LoBiondo with a student-curated exhibit located in the lower level of The exhibit features 10 themes from LoBiondos career, and includes his desk and a flag that flew over the Capitol building in Washington. Materials from the larger collection of papers and materials housed at 勛圖窪蹋 are also available for research.

14. You dont have to be a student to learn something new 

From photography to mindfulness and retirement planning, 勛圖窪蹋s Continuing Studies department believes in educating people for life. You can earn an online certificate in Cannabis Studies, or attend the African American Cultural Heritage Short Course on April 17-18.

The William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at 勛圖窪蹋 has partnered with the National Institute for Civil Discourses Initiative to Revive Civility and will host public dialogues about civility in political conversations during the 2020 election year.

Whether you're into rock music, rock climbing, or just plain rocks, you can find others with the same interest at one (or two, or three) of the more than 150 clubs at 勛圖窪蹋. Not sure what club is right for you? Check out the Spring 2020 Get Involved Fair on Jan. 28 and 29, where clubs, intramural sports and Greek life organizations will welcome new members.

18. Hear a distinctive voice

The council will welcome comedian and actress Nancy Giles at the Distinguished Women. Distinctive Voices Speaker Series at 6 p.m. March 23 in the Campus Center Event Room.

Commencement 2019

19. Celebrate your accomplishments

You made it and its time to celebrate! The doctoral and masters Commencement ceremony will be held May 12 on 勛圖窪蹋's Galloway campus, and the undergraduate Commencement will be May 15 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The Commencement page has more information.

Mayflower

20. Its our anniversary!

勛圖窪蹋 has come a long way since fall 1971, when the first cohort of students attended classes at the old Mayflower Hotel in Atlantic City for a semester while the Galloway campus was completed.  勛圖窪蹋 will celebrate its 50th year of teaching with a year-plus celebration that will begin in fall 2020. Weve already begun sharing 勛圖窪蹋 Stories online. Alumni can share their 勛圖窪蹋 stories and photos there as well.
